Attention, Celebrity Seekers!

Want to know where your favorite celebrities will be going to ring in this New Years 2010?  Here is the dish.

Lady Gaga, singer and songwriter of “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, and more recently known for “Disco Stick” and “Bad Romance” will be taking the stage at FontaineBleau Poolside in Miami.  After leading off the countdown ‘til the end of 2009, she will make her first 2010 performance at this memorable NYE Bash.

Also partying it up in Miami this NYE will be reality show star, Brody Jenner, star of Bromance, Princes of Malibu, and The Hills.  Brody will be hosting the number 1 hotel party on the beach- that is the sexy and exclusive rooftop party at Gansevoort Hotel!   360-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean, poolside cabanas, models, Brody… Oh and a 4 hour open bar… Who wouldn’t kill to be here this New Years Eve?

New York, New York.  That is where celebrities Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon will be celebrating their New Years Eve 2010, at M2 Ultra Lounge.  Want to be at the biggest scene, at the biggest city in the US, with the biggest celebrities?  Don’t miss out on the chance to dance, party, mingle and ring in the New Year with the elite and the famous at the most happening club in New York City!

Not going to be on the East Coast this New Years Eve?  There will be plenty of celebrities celebrating the New Years Eve 2010 in no other than Las Vegas.  Actress, author, socialite, and TV personality, Nicole Richie, is escaping The Simple Life this NYE 2010 to host the party at the newest restaurant and nightclub in the Palazzo, club Lavo.  Also in Las Vegas will be the world-famous, four-time Grammy winner, singer and performer, Christina Aguilera.  Rub the lamp and make a wish because this genie is coming out of the bottle to host the NYE 2010 party at nightclub, TAO.

Oh tonight will be a good one, if you are in Vegas and you’re getting ready to celebrate your night at LAX nightclub this New Years Eve, with the Black Eyed Peas.

Multi-platinum rap artist, 50 Cent will also be in the area, to host, perform, and start of the New Year right at Pure Nightclub, inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

And finally, Shwayze will have Vegas “Buzzin” as he hosts the NYE party at Christian Audigier this year.  Not sure if you can handle NYE 2010 in the city of sin with the hottest celebrities in the world?  Don’t worry- what happens here stays here.

Cocktails New York New YearsThe cosmo, the LIT, and the mojito are all recent classics we have enjoyed on a night out with our friends. So, why not try something new to drink on 2010 New Year's Eve?

Variations on the classic martini have become extremely popular ever since Carrie and the girls started drinking cosmos on Sex and the City. This New Years try a new take on an old classic, the blood orange martini. This delicious drink contains 1 part Campari, 2 parts orange vodka, and 1 part orange juice, perfect for the sweet tooth in all of us. This drink is easy to concoct for any bartender, so when you are partying the night away at STK this New Year's Eve NYC ask for a blood orange martini, shaken not stirred.

Recently sweet tea vodka has become quite popular in bars and clubs. This simple yet refreshing drink is perfect to keep the party going on New Years Eve. At Capitale on New Years Eve ask your bartender to serve you up a sweet tea vodka and water over ice with a squeeze of lemon.

What is New York New Years Eve without champagne? Ask the bartender at Duvet about a flirtini this New Years. It is a great mix between contemporary martini and champagne cocktail. This drink has 1 part vodka, 6 parts champagne, 2 parts pineapple juice, and 1 part triple sec.

Whether you stick with the classics or choose something new to sip on this New York New Years have fun with it and be careful! Happy New Year!

As a die hard Californian, I’ve always been fascinated with New York City, especially during New Years Eve New York. Sky rises, bright lights, fast paced, overly eager and yet still abundantly soothing. There are many splendors that the Big Apple has to offer but sometimes, we just can’t keep up with all the things that are going on. Especially with someone like me; a newly joined resident of Manhattan from the opposite side of the country, has a difficult time to know where to go, what to see, why to go see it, etc. An outside perspective can always offer new insights, especially one that has much more experience and it’s never a bad thing to have too much information. What better way to make an educated decision based on the knowledge that you have? Blog’s are quickly becoming the forefront of educating an end-user about a product, service or experience – sometimes a critic’s opinion is just not enough. Being in the middle of Time Square when the ball drops at midnight in on NYC New Years has always been something that I have wanted to do but from reading the savvy blogs below, it might sway me to try something that isn’t so cliche.

http://nynerd.com/ – This blog brings you informative news about what is going on in the city. The writer clearly has a sense of pride as a New Yorker so for those of you that want concrete news and information that effects the city, this blog is it.

New Year's Eve is the perfect time of year to gather your family and friends and spend an evening together watching movies.  Whether the classics are your style or you’d rather trek to the theater to watch the newest releases, watching a movie is a great way to spend quality time with your loved ones while welcoming in the New Year in New York.

If you’re getting together with the girls, pop open a bottle of wine and bring out the ice cream to watch “Bridget Jone’s Diary”.  This romantic comedy staring Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, follows a loveable but hopeless leading lady on her quest to keep her New Year’s resolution to write in her diary.  Laugh and cry along with Bridget as she writes about her ridiculous family, friends, and love life.

A great way to greet 2010 is to watch a movie with the kids.  If you’re looking for an entertaining New Year’s Eve movie, try “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown” the made-for-TV movie special that sang its way into many hearts.  In this movie, Charlie Brown struggles to finish his book report over the holidays while distractions such as a New Year party get in his way.

If you’re more interested in watching a New Year’s Eve classic, watch “Sunset Boulevard.”  This 1950’s film stars William Holden as a faltering screenplay writer and Gloria Swanson as a movie starlet looking for her comeback.  The drama escalates at a New Year’s Eve party where new love interests are discovered.  Follow Holden and Swanson’s journey through love, heartbreak, and murder while enjoying this New Year’s Eve classic.

Tired of trips to Blockbuster and sitting on your couch all night?  Head to the movie theater to see the hottest new releases.  One movie you might like is the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  It comes out December 25, 2009 and features a great cast: Sherlock Holmes is played by Robert Downey Jr., with supporting actors Jude Law and Rachel McAdams.

Watching a movie is a great way to relax before your big night at a club, cruise, in Times Square, or at a great party.  Check out a romantic New Year's Eve comedy, a great children’s special, a New Year’s Eve classic, or venture to the movie theater to check out a new release like Sherlock Holmes.

If you are looking for more than movies, our suggestion is NYC New Years Eve Parties.

If you’re planning on spending New Years Eve in New York City with your significant other, there are plenty of ways to turn the event into a romantic outing.  First off, make it a full day event.  Pack a picnic brunch – make sure to include mimosas – and head off to Central Park to the perfect spot for your romantic picnic.  Scope the park out ahead of time so you know where you’re headed.  A few suggestions are the Great Field, Sheep Meadow and East Green.  After you’re finished eating, head to the Boathouse for a romantic gondola ride in Central Park’s Lake.  If it’s your first trip to the city that never sleeps, cozy up to your lover in a carriage ride or stroll through the park on foot and check out the fountain and the imagine mosaic.

After your romantic NYC brunch, catch a cab to Rockefeller center and join the couples and families skating around the rink.  Make sure to take in the golden garnishes and famous Rockefeller Christmas tree as you hold hands and skate around the most celebrated ice skating rink in the city.  After you’ve worked up an appetite skating, head to the closest coffee shop for a latte, tea, pastry, or whatever strikes your fancy.  After your snack, head back to your apartment, hotel, etc. to get ready for your big night out.

Make sure you’re prepared for your NYC New Years Eve kiss by getting tickets to a romantic cruise on the Temptress Yacht NYC, where you can watch the fireworks from a distance while taking in a panoramic view of the city and dance the night away on the yacht’s dance floor.  Or if you’d rather stay on the island, purchase your tickets to Eden Rooftop in Times Square and watch the ball drop in style. Also Check out Half Moon New Year's Eve Party Cruise.

If you want to see all New Year's Eve events, visit New Years Eve Central to get your New Year's Eve tickets.

New Years Eve Celebration around the World

In New York City, masses of tourists and a few brave locals cram together in Times Square to watch the dropping ball and celebrate the New Year.  While champagne and noise-makers now characterize New York New Years Eve, there are long traditions of celebrating the New Year in other cultures around the world.

The New Year's Eve has been celebrated for thousands of years, but the exact date that we celebrate today was originally established by Roman Emperor Julius Caesar in 46 B.C.E.  Other cultures celebrate the New Year at different times of the year and with different traditions.  Chinese New Year celebrations include wearing new clothes, often red, and New Year gatherings with family and friends.  The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, has traditions of going to services and the blowing of the shofar, a ram’s horn.

Modern day New Year’s Eve celebrations throughout the world begin in New Zealand and Australia due to the time change, and Sydney’s massive firework displays are often broadcast nationally.  The first major city to see the New Year is Gisborne in New Zealand, which celebrates with fireworks, street carnivals, and in recent years Queenstown, New Zealand hosts an international cricket game on New Year’s Eve Day.

In Brazil it is customary to dress in white for good luck, gather with friends and families on Cobacabana beach and watch one of the best fire work displays in the nation with copious supplies of food and drinks.  Tradition in Venezuela also has an emphasis on bringing good luck into the New Year.  It is popular in Venezuela to tune into radio countdowns that are interspersed with festive tunes.

New Year’s Eve in France is called le Reveillon, and is celebrated with family and friends eating a feast with traditional food such as foie gras and festive desserts.  Like in the United States, France’s New Year’s traditions include resolutions and champagne.  Italy’s New Year’s Eve event traditions also include certain kinds of food.  In this case, Italian sausage and lentils are the appropriate New Year’s Eve snacks.  Tradition in Italy dictates wearing red underwear and dropping unused items out of the window as a new beginning.

New Year’s Eve is celebrated differently through out the world.  Whether it be a traditional food, certain color of underwear, or best place to catch the fireworks, celebration seems to be the global theme of New Year’s Eve.

New Years Eve in NYC Times Square

When the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, the most exciting place to be is New York’s Times Square. There is no better way to ring in the New Year than watching the ball drop live amongst one million people in the heart of New York City.

The New Year’s Time Square tradition dates back to 1904.  Beginning as a celebration of The New York Times, the owner, Adolph Ochs, put together a fabulous street-festival which included fireworks to celebrate the new home of the publication.  Over the years, this festivity has evolved resulting in Times Square now being the ultimate place to celebrate the New Year in NYC.

Celebrating New Year’s Eve in Times Square is exhilarating. There are live performances, celebrity guests, and of course a giant crystal ball that begins it’s decent one minute to midnight.  Past musical guests have included Fergie, Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, and the Pussycat Dolls.  The Times Square ball, which originated in 1906 when fireworks were banned from the New Year’s Eve celebration, is currently twelve feet in diameter and weighs 11,875 pounds.  It is covered in Waterford Crystals and is conveniently located on top of the New York Times building at One Times Square.

If you are going to Times Square on New Years Eve 2010, be sure to get there early, since it gets very crowded. Due to the large number of people who will be present in Times Square, it is recommended that the best way to travel is via public transportation. Train schedules may be running differently for the night, so be sure to check out www.mta.info for more information.  Public drinking is prohibited, however there are numerous restaurants and bars surrounding Times Square where you can enjoy a cold one, along with some great food.

Spending your New Year’s Eve in Times Square will surely be a night to remember.  With one million attendees and one billion television viewers, there is no doubt that Times Square is the perfect place to bring in the New Year!

Live Stream form Time Square on New Year's Eve will be available on this site.

NY 1 News reports on inexpensive Halloween Getaways for this Coming Halloween Season

Fall is in full affect and the beautiful array of browns and oranges that immerge with the fall foliage can hardly be appreciated in the city that has more street lights then trees. Fortunately New York 1 News has reported on cheap Halloween getaways ideas that will give you a break from the chaotic city streets of NYC and out breathing the fresh air of the surrounding states and their Halloween adventures.

Six Flags Great Adventures located in Jackson NJ has started its annual Fright Fest sponsored by Snickers that is going on its 18th year of fright. All through out the day the park will be functioning regularly with its regular rides and Halloween themed entertainment but come 6 pm Six Flags Great Adventures will convert its 140 acre theme park into “Scream Park” and it is recommended that children under the age of 6 be taken home.

Terror Behind the Walls is located at the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. This immense castle like prison no longer plays hosts to prisoners but rather 5 different haunted attractions sure to have you truly horrified and scared out of your mind. Open on the weekends and select evenings, this haunted adventure is fairly priced and sure to be more then what you expected.

For something much less scary and more family oriented, take a trip out to Owego NY and visit the family run Iron Kettle Farm. Running for the past 40 years, The Iron Kettle Farm has an amazing Halloween pumpkin display, a corn maze and obstacle course, a pumpkin sling shot, and an animal feeding station. This Halloween treat is one the entire family can enjoy!

Above all, our best suggestion is to have your place in Village Halloween Parade 2009 and then go to one of the best Halloween parties in NYC.

If you are planning a big celebration this 2009 Halloween night then you will definitely want to buy Halloween tickets for NYC events in advance. There are tons of people commuting into the city and you don’t want to be spending the majority of your night waiting on long lines. Also, tickets are often more money at the door so plan ahead! Here are some other tips to keep in mind when buying Halloween tickets in NYC.

•    Most Halloween tickets are available online by Oct. 21st 2009 so you may want to have your plans finalized by then
•    Be aware that the last date to buy tickets online is Oct. 30th for many venues
•    Most venues will have several ticket options (General Admission, VIP Access, etc), so be sure to ask what specials (open bar, table reservation, bottles) come with each
•    If you know that you’ll be bar or club hopping on Halloween night then try to organize your trip in advance so you know which venues to buy the reduced 1 a.m. admission tickets for
o    If you are planning to travel around the city on Halloween night, check out hopstop.com to help navigate your way from one venue to the next
•    Be sure to check if the venue has a Halloween theme so that you are properly dressed for it
•    Try to arrive at your venue of choice at least 20 minutes earlier than the given time on your Halloween ticket to ensure that you are not waiting on line for too long
•    For most venues you will have the option of picking up your NYC Halloween tickets in advance, have them delivered, or get them at will call.
•    For those of you, who decide to get a table or VIP reservation, make it a point to request that your party be seated together. Sometimes venues get filled very quickly and fail to mention that adjacent tables are not always available
•    You may want to consider combining groups of friends to form a large party because sometimes venues offer discounts if you belong to a group of 20 people or so
•    Halloween Events NYC and Halloween Parties NYC are great sources for all of your Halloween party ticket information. From there you will have access to hundreds of venues celebrating Halloween events, can buy your Halloween tickets, and even view photos of venues and past Halloween events.
o    The above sites are especially useful if you want to view pictures of venues you are thinking of going to so that you can make sure you would enjoy the scene, ambiance, crowd, etc.
o    You may also want to research what type of music your venue(s) of choice features just in case you are opposed to a certain genre of music or are really in the mood for a certain type of music.

Sexy Halloween Parties 2009 in New York

Halloween equals sexy. Halloween is the epitome of sexy. Sure, you have your fair share of goblins and witches, fake blood and masks – but the majority of Halloween party goers celebrate the holiday simply because it is an excuse to let down your hair (and your neckline) and show off your “assets” without caring what anyone thinks… maybe because more than half of the population has the same perspective in mind as well.

It’s a time to live out your childhood fantasies of being a super macho wrestler, complete with your ‘worked all summer long for abs’ and slick red robe and gloves. The perfect time to imitate that iconic superhero, live out the stereotyped cheerleader or get in tune with your inner teacher’s pet – because nerds are sexy too, truthfully. This year more then ever, we New Yorker’s (in conjunction with the rest of the nation) want nothing more then to forget about the fact that we may be momentarily jobless or not getting this year’s holiday bonuses – and drink to our little hearts desire. Not to say that we have become a nation of drunks, but a few tart tequila sunrises sure do help one forget about the days work (or lack there of) and kick back with a few of our dearest acquaintances… or the hot brown hair, blue eyed boy standing around a group of friends wearing Popeye the sailor getup.

So in the spirit of our lovely economy…. Why don’t we all throw on a little something sexy and get together for some bar hopping this Hallow’s Eve 2009! Oh, and just in case you needed a little inspiration to get you motivated in deciding what that something sexy is going to be – here are a nice collection of pictures compliments of Joonbug’s sexy Halloween parties last year.
