Summer is coming to an end, which only further iterates that this is the time to enjoy a drink at the best rooftop bars before the seasons shift. After a long day on that 9-5 lifestyle, the clock finally hits that lovely time to destress with a drink in hand. The only thing that could make Happy Hour even better is to do appreciate it on a rooftop (well, maybe also getting out of work early). Unwind at Happy Hour at these top 5 rooftop bars and finish off summer’16 with good friends, skyline views, and of course, drink specials.

1. Rooftop 93

Located in Chinatown, Rooftop 93 has Happy Hour specials daily between 5-8pm. This bar offers outdoor, top floor seating on the 19th level paired with greatly priced drink specials. During these hours, all house drinks and beers are only $6 each, which means happy hour may easily turn into a pregame for a night out. Sounds good to me! One in particular drink special is extra nice, where if you order 2 shots, you get the third one for free. YES. The rooftop view is jaw-dropping as it offers a sight of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The scene offers an intimate, relaxed setting and doesn’t usually get too crowded. Cheap drinks and a skyline ambience are first-rate ways to loosen up after a day at work.

2. Salvation Taco

Located between Lexington and 3rd, Salvation Taco is the spot for a breathtaking rooftop layout, strong drinks, and the feeling of stepping out of New York directly into Mexico. Come for the cocktails, stay for the atmosphere. Happy Hour is short and only extends from 5:30pm-7pm, Monday through Friday, so make sure you come straight from work in order to get a good table or call early for a reservation. The outdoor seating has stringing lights, green vines along the red brick arches, and an open view of the city’s beautiful horizon. Additional plus: the food is delicious. Easily one of the best rooftop locations for a drink in the city. You will not be disappointed.

3. Gansevoort Park Rooftop

If your job is in Meatpacking, go to Gansevoort Park Rooftop between 5pm to 7pm right when you get off work. It is a top notch spot for both indoor and outdoor options to socialize, throw back a few, and take in the VIEWS. Come here for some seriously on point panoramic pics if you want to become the envy of your Snapchat friends. The inside is adorned with high ceilings and a nightlife vibe, but it’s the outdoor seating on the balcony that will leave you in awe. It definitely gets loud and lively at this spot, but that may be exactly what the doctor ordered if you spent all day in the office. Oh and yeah, there’s a pool. Awesome.

4. Cloud Social Rooftop Bar

If you work in Midtown West come to this hidden gem, Cloud Social Rooftop bar for Happy Hour until 7pm. If you want to keep drinking a little later, don’t panic, considering the drink prices are pretty reasonable here, regardless. You can’t beat the views which are absolutely stunning because this spot is only a few blocks from the Empire State Building; your Instagram followers will be thoroughly pleased. The best days to come here are Thursday and Friday, but it never gets overly packed. The vibe is relaxed and brings in a laid back, friendly crowd, which is refreshing. Come by, and I’m sure you’ll come back for more.

5. Tavern 29

This rooftop pub is a successful Biergarten choice for Happy Hour, where they deserve 4 Stars for cheap drinks and always having a great selection of beers on tab. Get started a little early if you’re blessed with Summer Fridays, and come here for Happy Hour between noon to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Definitely a communal setting because the outdoor patio seating consists of long wooden tables designed for groups and solid collective conversation. Also if you’re hungry, order the Hangover Burger, you won’t regret it. Enjoy the rooftop ambience, but call ahead for reservations to guarantee you and all your friends get a spot together.
