Trendy restaurants are lucky if their 'it' factor lasts a full year, but Butter has managed to keep the Blackberries of the velvet rope crowd buzzing since 2002. Much of this has to do with the still fresh, space-age forest design--the arched upstairs with its illuminated tree mural and the downstairs with its birch-lined walls and not to mention the most famous party in all of New York City, Butter Monday Nights.
The downstairs lounge is more of a VVVIP nightclub. On Monday nights Butter is to jet-setters what football is to the Midwest. EVERYONE'S partied here, including owner Sartiano's girlfriend, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and his ex, Ashley Olsen and her sister Mary-Kate, who's been linked to owner Akiva, says the NY Post. The celeb sightings at Butter could take up an entire page but just to give you a taste, here are some names you might recognize: Prince, Jim Carrey, Bruce Willis, Guy Ritchie and Madonna, A-Rod, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Penelope Cruz and Mary J Blige.
